The 2026 VJAS Symposium will be at Hampden-Sydney College on Saturday, May 2, 2026

  • Accepted  Papers (MS and HS)
  • Students: Your sponsor or parent should notify the Associate Director (associate.directorvjas@gmail.com) by April 22, 2026 to request any changes in presentation time.
  • All students who paid the paper submission fee and Hampden Sydney registration fee are eligible to attend the Symposium.
  • Remember, this has a conference flair. Attendees can see  presentations. 
  • Those papers that were disqualified will have a chance to  meet with the Director. Papers can be rewritten and resubmitted for Symposium 2027.

  • All attendees to Symposium 2026 must register with Hampden-Sydney College by April 24, 2026.
  • The $35 registration fee for the Symposium covers the cost of lunch and parking.
  • ​Dorm facilities ARE NOT available.

Student Paper Submission

  • The paper submission window is now closed.

Individual VJAS Membership

  • This membership category is normally intended for homeschooled students (grades 7 through 12) in Virginia or for a student (in grades 7-12) who attends a public or private school that will not be joining VJAS as a School Member.​
  • Individual membership applications are completed during the student paper submission process.

School VJAS Membership (Registration)

Timeline of Important Dates

  • ​​March 24: Deadline for sponsors to submit a single payment for their students' Symposium fees.
  • March 26: Reader review period ends.
  • First Week in April: Notification of students who will be invited to present at the Symposium. Students not invited to present will be attendees.​
  • April 19: Deadline for sponsors to confirm participation of their students.
  • May 2 - Opening Ceremony and Jeffers Memorial Lecture 
  • May 2 - Student Research Symposium and presentations to judges 
  • ​​May 18 - Awards Ceremony 2026.
