How Judging Works
Judges Needed for the 2027 VJAS Research Symposium
Virtual Readers, In-Person Judges, and Virtual Special Judges Registration Link:
The registration will open in the fall of 2026.
What You’ll Do
Contact Susan Booth (director@vjas.org) to register to be a judge and for further information.
Read and score a set of student research papers before the symposium using a clear, easy-to-follow rubric
Attend the symposium on May 22 to hear students present their work
Complete the final portion of scoring and join a brief discussion with your fellow judges and the student
How the Day Flows
Morning check-in and orientation
Student presentations every 15 minutes
Built-in breaks to recharge
Once your section finishes and your scores are submitted, you’re done for the day
